Individual Yoga Instruction

Individual yoga lessons can be taken as an effective way to begin and/or refine your yoga practice. These are intended to give you the tools to learn and perform a safe and skillful personal yoga practice.

These sessions are more personalized and suited to the needs of the participant and time will be given for questions and discussion. Students are encouraged to develop questions as this "inquiry" is at the core of yoga study.

While maintaining the integrity of the Ashtanga practice, we take into consideration the circumstances of the students schedule and daily life. Student and teacher work together to create a "realistic" practice sequence that may be performed on a regular basis. It is much better to perform a shortened or modified sequence with consistency rather than a "full" series only occasionally. Repetition is the mother of mastery.

Those with special needs such as injuries or physical limitations should consider these personalized lessons. The knowledge gained here including modifications or specialized sequencing can easily transfer into group or Mysore class.

Even students with an established practice choose the occasional private lesson to get feedback and refine their practice.
Those who wish to deepen their understanding and experience of yoga, thinking about teaching or taking on advanced practices may consider one-to-one instruction.

Or simply those who are unable to attend scheduled group classes may schedule private lessons.

Therapeutic Massage

Adarsh has practiced Integrated Deep Tissue therapeutic massage for over 10 years. The Integrated approach utilizes techniques developed within the western rehabilitative model such as Swedish, sports massage and neuromuscular therapy allied with the more energetic approach of Polarity, yoga, and ayurveda.

Massage therapy provides excellent assistance in the maintenance of high-level wellness as it directly or indirectly affects many of the systems that transport and transform energy within the body. The circulatory, respiratory, muscular, endocrine, and nervous system functions can all be improved through the application of manual massage techniques.

An excellent adjunct to yoga practice, one of the main goals of massage is to educate the recipient. Through manipulation and realignment of the body's soft tissues, we directly experience the benefits of becoming more relaxed, balanced, and pain free. This experience may directly translate into being more aware of posture, breathing, and attention in yoga and daily life.
